Vendor and Product Portfolio

Great Bay Software

The innovator of Endpoint Profiling for enterprise networks.

Great Bay software improves the:

  • Deployment
  • Administration
  • Management of 802.1X in Enterprise networks.

As a result, Beacon’s appliance is leveraged by the industry’s leading 802.1X, IT Security, and NAC vendors including Cisco, Juniper, and Symantec.

In addition, the wealth of information provided by the Beacon™  has allowed customers to expand the use cases of the product to include:
- compliance and auditing initiatives,
- network migration planning
- incident response.

The Company has also added new products to its portfolio such as Great Bay’s Sponsored Guest Access which provides provisioning of guests and contractors requiring temporary network access, as well as machine provisioning for new or specialized assets.

Considering 802.1X?
Great Bay solves the most compelling challenge in enabling 802.1X:
-> Discovery, provisioning, and monitoring of non-EAP endpoints.
It  generates and maintains a comprehensive directory of all network attached endpoints; most notably the non-authenticating (non-EAP) endpoints such as Printers, UPS, VoIP phone, WLAN Access Points, HVAC systems, PXE boot hosts, Badge readers, etc.

Considering NAC?

Cisco, Juniper and Symantec  have been integrated with Great Bay’s Beacon Endpoint Profiler to provide a more effective method of accommodating and securing the non-NAC endpoints that comprise up to two thirds of all network attached endpoints in the Enterprise.

Need a comprehensive view of EVERYTHING connected to the network?

Great Bay Software’s Beacon discovers all network attached endpoints and provides real-time and historical contextual views of endpoint identity, addressing, and location data.

Looking to resolve a recent audit finding?

Great Bay Software’s Beacon has been deployed in networks to resolve or avoid audit findings related to FISMA, HIPAA, Sarbanes Oxley, and other internal audit and compliance metrics.

Looking for more effective closed loop Incident Response process?

The most frequent shortfall of effective Incident Response methods is the reality that the event of interest occurred at some point in the past. Using Beacon’s historical and contextual views, the Incident Response technician is able to align the address, location and identity of the endpoint at the time of the event with the same attributes of the endpoint at present. This allows the incident to truly be closed as the offending station can be located and remediated independent of current address and location.
